Motor vehicle collisions
Belleville, Ontario – On June 13th, 2017, at 8:18 p.m. police attended on Moira St. East at Cameron regarding a 2-car accident. One car was present which had struck a fire hydrant. There were no injuries. Police are appealing to any persons who may have witnessed the accident. The investigating officer is Adam Donaldson 613-966-0882 ext. 4147.
Police laid charges on June 13th regarding an accident that occurred on June 12th, 2017 at 4:44 p.m. In that accident a car struck another car on Sidney Street south of Millenium Drive. The suspect vehicle then reversed into the car behind it. The suspect vehicle went forward and struck the first vehicle for the second time before fleeing the scene. A 33-year old Centre Hastings man was located and charged with careless driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. He will appear in Traffic Court in July.
Belleville, Ontario – On June 13th, 2017, 6:40 p.m. officers attended on Church Street in relation to an intoxicated male stumbling into traffic. A 36-year old Quinte West man was located and arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and issued a provincial offence notice.
Belleville, Ontario – On June 13th, 2017, at 8:20 p.m. an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on Great St. James Street as the driver was not wearing his seatbelt. The driver had been consuming alcohol and was placed on the roadside screening device. The driver registered a “fail” and was arrested. The 29-year old Belleville man will appear in court on June 29th on a charge of “over 80 mgs” and failing to wear a seatbelt. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
Arrest on warrants
Belleville, Ontario – On June 13th, 2017, at 10:35 p.m. officers attended on a Domestic call on Prince of Wales Drive. A 25-year old Belleville man was arrested on a warrant held by the Quinte West OPP. He was escorted to Trenton and turned over to the OPP. No charges arising from the original call.
