Assault

Belleville, Ontario - On March 14, 2010, police were notified of an assault involving a child. The witness observed a vehicle being driven on Herchimer Ave at approximately 1:00 p.m. The vehicle was a Dodge Pick Up with a male and a child inside. The male is alleged to have grabbed the child and throw him into the seat. There is no other description of the male suspect or vehicle other than it possibly having a Nova Scotia licence plate. It is unclear at this time if the child sustained any injuries as a result of this assault. This incident is still under investigation and anyone with information as to the identity of the driver or owner of this vehicle is asked to call police at 613 966 0882 or Crime Stoppers at 1 800 222 ? Criminal Harassment

Belleville, Ontario - On March 14, 2010, police investigated a complaint of Harassing Phone Calls. The suspect in this case had been cautioned by police in February 2010 for continuously phoning the victim when this communication was unwanted by her. Between March 13th and March 14th the suspect continuously phoned the victim and left several messages. A 61 year old Oshawa male has been charged with Criminal Harassment. The name of the accused will not be released as to protect the identity of the victim in the case.

Stolen Vehicle

Belleville, Ontario - On March 14, 2010, a resident from Chatham Street reported a theft of his ATV sometime over the weekend. The ATV is an Orange 1988 SUZUKI.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, Ont. At 3:15am 14 March 2010, Belleville Police Service officers responded to a call of a two vehicle collision near the intersection of N Front Street and Bell Blvd. Officers observed one of the drivers to be impaired. 33 year old Jeffery Lightfoot of Belleville, Ont. He is scheduled to appear in Belleville Court on the 29th April 2010. There were no injuries in the collision.

Unwanted Person

Belleville, Ont. At 3:30am 14 March 2010, Belleville Police Service responded to a second call concerning a male unwanted at a West end residence. Police entered the residence to remove the 22 year old male when he pointed a firearm at the officer. He was disarmed and arrested. His weapons were seized and he was later released from police custody charged with Weapons Dangerous and Pointing a Firearm. His court date is scheduled for 29 April 2010. The name will not be released. No injuries.
