Three arrested in Walmart Theft
Belleville, Ont. ? On October 14, 2009, at 5:00 p.m., police were called to Walmart in relation to three shoplifters who had been arrested by store security for shoplifting. The officer did not believe the names provided and the three were detained in custody for further investigation. Their true identities were revealed and a 16 year old female and 17 year old male were charged with one count each of Theft Under and a 23 year old male was charged with Theft Under and Obstruct Police. A further check revealed that he was wanted by Peterborough OPP for an assault that had occurred earlier in the day. He was turned over to an OPP escort team.
Bail Violation
Belleville, Ont. ? On October 14, 2009, at 10:30 p.m., a 19 year old Belleville man was checked by Police in the City?s west end. It was revealed that he was bound by a 10:00 p.m. curfew. Once arrested, a small amount of marijuana was located in his pocket. He was charged with two counts of Breach of Probation and one count of Possession of Marijuana. He will appear in court in December.
Break & Enter
Belleville, Ont. ? On October 14, 2009, police received a report of a Break and Enter at a west end church. The entry was gained the evening before and it is alleged thieves hid in the church prior to the church being locked up for the night. While inside the church thieves damaged a door inside the building gaining entry to an office. A lap top was reported stolen. This incident is currently under investigation.
