The Belleville Police Service responded to 55 calls for service between December 13th, 2018 at 5:00 a.m. and December 14th, 2018 at 5:00 a.m.

Liquor Licence Act

Belleville, Ontario – On December 13th, 2018, at 4:01 p.m., police attended on Highland Ave in relation to a disturbance. A 53-year-old Belleville woman was arrested to prevent a further breach of the peace. This was the fourth call of the afternoon for this woman as the other three calls were all in the downtown core. Alcohol was a factor in this incident.

On December 14th, 2018, at 12:41 a.m., police attended at the corner of Dundas Street West and Sidney Street in relation to a male passed out on the sidewalk. A 37-year-old Prince Edward County man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.

Traffic-related issues

Belleville, Ontario – On December 13th, 2018, at 9:26 a.m., a traffic stop occurred on College Street East. The driver was charged with operating a motor vehicle with no insurance and failing to surrender a driver’s licence. He will appear in traffic court on January 7th, 2019.

On December 13th, 2018, at 11:43 a.m., police attended in the parking lot of 210 Dundas Street East in relation to a motor vehicle collision. Paramedics attended at the scene to treat one of the drivers for minor injuries. One car was towed. No charges as the collision occurred on private property.

On December 13th, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., a traffic stop occurred on Catharine Street. The vehicle was operating with improper licence plates which were removed. The driver was charged with having improper plates on the vehicle.
