Break & Enter(s)

Belleville, Ontario ? Belleville Police responded to 4 Break & Enters over the weekend.

Sometime between August 12th and the 14th a home on Moira Street West was entered. It is believed entry was gained through an insecure door while the homeowner was working in a neighbour's garden. Taken was jewellery valued at approximately $5000. and an undisclosed amount of cash.

A homeowner on North Front Street reported an entry to his home sometime overnight from August 13th to the 14th. Entry was gained through a balcony door. Taken was a lap top, GPS and various DVD's.

A back yard shed on Victoria Ave was entered sometime between August 12th and the 14th. Entry was gained by suspects cutting through a deadbolt lock. Thieves took an electric lawn mower and extension cord.

Sometime between August 13th at 8:30 p.m. and August 14th at 10:00 p.m. a home of South Foster Ave was entered by suspects 'kicking' in the front door. Thieves took a TV and Jewellery.

All of these incidents are currently under investigation.

Possession & Drugs

Belleville, Ontario ? On August 12, 2011 at 8:10 p.m. police received information of a possible drug transaction taking place on Front Street. Police located and spoke to two males in the area where the witness observed the transaction. This investigation resulted in Gerald SMITH, 55 years old from the City of Belleville being arrested and charged with one count each of Possession of Marijuana, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Smith was later released with a court date scheduled in August 2011.

Indecent Act

Belleville, Ontario ? On August 14, 2011 at 7:00 a.m., police received a complaint of an indecent act which had occurred on the Bay Shore Trail in the area of West Zwicks Island Park. The suspect exposed himself to the victim as she was walking along the trail. At the time of the exposure the suspect was also hold a fishing pole. He is described as 19 to 25 years and wearing a blue hoodie. Nothing was said by the suspect and after the exposure he fled east along the trail. Officers searched the area both east and west along the trail as well as into the park however the suspect was not located.
