Belleville, Ontario- 15 April, 2010, Belleville Police Street Crime Unit with assistance from Emergency Response Team, K-9, and OPP Provincial Weapons Enforcement and Project Longarm, executed a search warrant at a residence on Albion Street.
Police recovered a number of items that had been reported stolen during a recent rash of residential break and enters in Belleville and surrounding area. Items include electronic equipment, personal identification documents and jewelry.
Belleville Street Crime Unit will be working with local OPP Street Crime Teams in attempt to identify the rightful owners of the property.
Police requested that a nearby elementary school institute the "shelter in place? protocol as a precautionary safety measure for approximately 30 minutes.
Michellyne Menard, 42 years of Belleville has been charged with one count of possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Shane McFarland, 29 years has been charged with one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and 5 counts of Break and Enter. Both charged persons will appear in Provincial Court on 3 June, 2010.
