Theft of Tires and Rims

Belleville, Ont., - On February 2009 at about 2:20am, an officer on patrol checked two males in the parking lot beside  the Ford dealership on North Front Street.  The males were taken into custody for possession break and enter tools.  It was learned both males were known for thefts of tires and rims across Ontario.  A 42year old Niagara Falls male and a 29 year old Welland Ontario male were held over the long weekend for a bail hearing on Tuesday 17 Feb 09.  Both men face charges for Possession of Break and Enter tools, Attempt Theft over $5000 and Mischief over $5000.  The investigation is continuing.  


 Break and Enter

 Belleville, Ont., - On 15 February 2009, at about 9:30pm, Belleville Police Service responded to a suspicious  persons call on South Pinnacle Street. An 18 year old Belleville male was taken into custody for Break and Enter.  Large quantities of stolen property from a South Pinnacle Street business were recovered along with break and enter tools.  The male was later released on a Promise to Appear/Officer In Charge Undertaking with conditions.  His court date is set for April 2009.


Transportation Fraud 

Belleville, Ont., - ON 15 February 2009 at about 10:00pm, police were called to Bridge Street East for a call of a cab driver being defrauded of his fare.  A 33 year old Belleville man was taken into custody for being intoxicated in a public place and charged with failing to pay his $8.70 fare.  His court date is scheduled for April 2009.
