Belleville, Ont. - On July 15, 2009 at 6:30a.m., an employee of a North Front Street restaurant left work to go home and found that sometime overnight unknown persons had spray painted his car. On closer observation it was noted that another car in the lot had also been spray painted. This second vehicle also belonged to an employee of the business. Anyone with information about these two acts of vandalism are requested to contact the Belleville Police Service at 613 966 0882 or Crime Stoppers at 1 800 TIPS.
Belleville, Ont. - On July 15, 2009, at 3:44 p.m., police responded to a Front Street business regarding a shoplifter. The suspect selected two items from the store and when approached by an employee fled without attempting to pay for the items. Police responded in the area and located the suspect. A 20 year old Belleville male was arrested and charged with one count of Theft Under $5000.
Belleville, Ont. - On July 15, 2009, at approximately 6:57 p.m. police were called to a North Front Street grocery store to investigate a report of a female Shoplifter. As a result of the investigation a 16 year old female youth from Belleville was charged with Theft under $5000. She was released on an Appearance Notice at the scene.
Break and Enter
Belleville, Ont. - On July 15, 2009, at approximately 8:29 p.m. officers were called to a Farley Avenue residence to investigate a report of a possible break and enter. A neighbour had noticed the front door to the residence ajar and contacted police. Investigation revealed that sometime between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm unknown person(s) entered the residence by cutting a screen and forcing open a window at the side of the residence. A 32? plasma television set was stolen from inside and the suspect(s) exited out the front door. The investigation is continuing.
Disturb the Peace
Belleville, Ont. - On July 15, 2009, at approximately 10:35 p.m., officers were called to an Elgin Street residence to investigate a report of a fight. The investigation led them to a male who was arrested nearby for assault on two separate persons. The male suspect was also bound by two probation orders with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. A 41 year old Belleville man was charged with two counts of Assault and two counts of Breach of Probation. He was released on a Promise to Appear.
Belleville, Ont. - On July 15, 2009, at 23:21 p.m., Police were dispatched to a family dispute in the west end of Belleville. As a result a 37 year old female was arrested for her own protection for Intoxicated in a Public Place contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.
