Theft of Motor Vehicle/Arrest
Belleville, Ontario ? On 14 September, 2010 at 7:35 p.m., police were notified of a stolen 1993 Ford Ranger from the 100 block of Victoria Avenue within the last 10 minutes. At 10:26 p.m., police attended on Front Street in response to a report of the stolen vehicle being observed parked in a lot on Front Street. Investigation of this complaint led to the arrest of a 27 year old male from Belleville. This male will appear for a bail hearing on 15 September, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., in Provincial Court

Break and Enter
Belleville, Ontario ? On 14 September, 2010 at 5:02 p.m., police attended at a residence on Tracey Park Drive in response to a complaint of a break and enter. The resident reported that unknown person(s) entered the residence between 12:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and stole electronics and DVD's. This investigation is ongoing.

Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspections
Belleville, Ontario ? On 13 and 14 September, 2010, Belleville Police Service Traffic Management Unit partnered with Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Environment, Kingston Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police in an effort to keep our roads safe. This traffic initiative resulted in 45 % of the vehicles that were inspected being designated as unsafe to be operated on the road. There were a total of 36 charges laid, 20 vehicles taken out of service, 7 vehicles had critical defects that required the plates to be removed from the vehicle and 47 Ministry of Environment inspections.
