Accidents

Belleville, Ontario – On September 14th, 2015, at 7:07 a.m. police attended on Adam Street in relation to a two-car accident. One driver was taken to hospital by EMS with minor injuries. One of the vehicles was towed from the scene. The investigation is continuing.

At 12:06 p.m. police attended on Blessington Road in relation to a two-car accident. One of the drivers was charged with “fail to yield”. There were no injuries.

At 12:14 p.m. police attended on West Moira Street in relation to a two-car accident. One driver suffered minor injuries as a result of an airbag being deployed. One of the  drivers was charged with “follow too closely”.

At 3:40 p.m. police attended on Bleecker Avenue at Pine Street in relation to a two-car accident. There were no injuries, and the investigation is continuing.

Shoplifter

Belleville, Ontario – On September 14th, 2015, police attended at a business on Millennium Parkway in relation to a shoplifter who had fled from store security. It was learned that the suspect had resisted arrest and fled on foot. An arrest warrant will be sought for a 28 year old Belleville man for theft, resist arrest, and assault. There were no injuries.

Impaired Driver

Belleville, Ontario – On September 14th, 2015, at 8:45 p.m. police received a call about an impaired driver on Front Street. A witness advised that a car drove across several curbs in front of the Cabaret on Front Street before coming to rest against another car. The driver was arrested at the scene for impaired driving. Once at the Station the driver refused to provide samples of his breath. Michael Martin, 34, of Belleville, was charged with impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample. He will appear in court on September 24th, 2015.
