Break and Enter
Belleville, Ontario ? On 15 May, 2011 at 2:46 a.m., police responded to a complaint made by a resident on Sumac Terrace in relation to an unknown male standing in their sun porch. Police attended in the area of Sumac Terrace and subsequently learned the unknown male had entered a vehicle that was last seen north bound on Farley Avenue. Police located and stopped this vehicle on Station Street. There were several items located in the bed of the truck that appeared out of place and we therefore seized by police for investigative purposes.
Further investigation of this incident resulted in the driver of the vehicle being charged with one count each of Break and Enter with Intent, Prowl by Night, Drive while under suspension, and Operate Motor Vehicle with no currently validated permit and Operate Motor Vehicle ?no insurance.
James Allan Reid (33 years) of Belleville has been remanded into custody and will appear for a bail hearing on 16 May, 2011 at 2:00 p.m...

Police are asking the public to ensure that any outbuildings or sheds are secured and to report all property thefts to the police. This investigation is ongoing.

Belleville, Ontario ? On 14 May, 2011 at 11:55 p.m., police attended at a residence on Singleton Drive in response to a report of a break and enter that occurred sometime between 6:00 p.m. and 11:55 p.m... Electronics were stolen. This investigation is ongoing.

Belleville, Ontario ? On 13 and 14 May, 2011 officers conducted RIDE programs at various locations throughout the City.
In total 379 vehicles were stopped in the RIDE. There was one 3 day and one 12 hour license suspension issued.
