Motor Vehicle Collisions

Belleville, Ontario ? On 15 December 2011 at 7:16 a.m. police responded to a 2 vehicle collision on Loyalist-Wallbridge Road south of Highway #401. There were no injuries and a 44 year old Belleville area man was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with the offence of "following too closely?.

At 10:44am a collision occurred on Dundas Street West near Wilkie Street involving two vehicles and minor injuries to one person who was treated and released from hospital. The collision remains under investigation.

Later at 11:03 a.m. police responded to a 2 vehicle collision on Bell Blvd west of North Front Street. There were no injuries and a 66 year old Belleville area man was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to yield.

Several other collisions were reported during the morning and afternoon of 15 December 2011 which were handled by the Collision Reporting Centre at the Belleville Police Service. These were non-injury collisions.

Structure Fire

Belleville,Ontario-On 15 Dec 2011at 1:30 p.m. Belleville Police Service responded to a structure fire on Front Street along with Fire Services. Upon arrival police found an apartment billowing smoke. An officer entered the apartment and removed a female from the apartment. The officer and the female were taken to Hospital with undetermined injuries.

Controlled Drugs and Substance Act

Belleville,Ontario-ON 16 Dec 2011 at 1230 am an officer on Patrol stopped a vehicle on Front st. The Officer observed a clear baggy on the Front seat with what he believed to be Marihuana. The driver was arrested and charges with Possession of a Narcotic. He was released at the scene with a court date in February.

Charged with Possession of a Narcotic is Nathan Mahaffy from Shannonville.
