Collisions/Traffic Complaints

Belleville, On – The Belleville Police Service responded to 13 motor vehicle collisions in a on 15 December 2017. All but 2 of the collisions involved property damage only. Minor injuries were reported in 2 of the collisions. Police also responded to 5 traffic complaints throughout the day. Drivers are reminded to drive to the conditions, slow down and leave extra space between vehicles.

 

“911 in error”

Belleville, On - Belleville Police continue to receive 911 calls in error. Police responded to ten 911 pocket dials and hang ups over an 18 hour period. These calls tie up resources as officers need to investigate whether there is a legitimate emergency.

 

Festive Liquid Joy

Belleville On. – Belleville Police arrested 3 adults overnight whom had consumed too much alcohol. A 20 year old female was arrested at approximately 3pm on 15 December 2017 on College Street West. A 30 year old male was arrested at approximately 1am on December 16 at a North Front Street establishment and a 23 year old female was arrested at a Hwy 62 location at approximately 115am. All of the arrestee’s were in such a state that they could not care for themselves and were arrested for their own protection. All received a Christmas gift from the Belleville Police Service upon their release.. a ticket for public intoxication.

 

Arrest on Warrant

Belleville Ontario – On 15 December 2017 Belleville Police  arrested a 24 year old Belleville man wanted on outstanding warrants from Maniwaki QC. The warrants were for Domestic assault, utter threats, mischief and breach of Probation. At the request of the Surete du Quebec the male was released on a promise to appear in court in Maniwaki in February 2018

 

RIDE

Belleville, On – On 15-16 December, 2017 due to the inclement weather the Belleville Police Service RIDE team was only able to stop 75 vehicles looking for impaired drivers. 1 driver was issued a 3 day drivers license suspension for having a blood alcohol level over .05mgs
