Theft of motor vehicle

 

Belleville, Ontario On Saturday 15 February 2014 at 5:40am police were called by a citizen who located a burned out motor vehicle in the Point Anne area. The maroon colored 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche had been stolen between 10pm and 2am from a Church Street South address and set on fire on Manley Drive. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Monique WAITE at Belleville Police or Crime-Stoppers.

 

Motor Vehicle Collisions

 

Belleville, Ontario Police responded to a total of 4 motor vehicle collisions in the 24 hour period. A two vehicle collision Saturday at 6:17pm at Bridge Street East near Herchimer Avenue resulted in a male driver being charged under the highway traffic act with fail to yield and a female passenger in the other vehicle being treated for minor injuries at hospital.  

 

Bail Violations

 

Belleville, Ontario Police received calls Saturday evening beginning at 7:38pm about an intoxicated man wandering in traffic in the North Front Street and Bell Blvd area. The suspect was located shortly thereafter trespassing in an apartment building. A 31 year old man from Natuashish, Labrador was arrested and held for a bail hearing charged with two counts of breaching bail release conditions for consuming alcohol and failing to keep night-time curfew in his east coast residence which was ordered by a Newfoundland and Labrador Court Justice.

 

Disturbances of the Peace

 

After midnight and into the early hours of Sunday morning, Patrol Officers responded to 12 alcohol related disturbance type calls in various parts of the city resulting in 3 arrests and minor charges under the Liquor License and Trespass to Property Acts
