Belleville, Ontario - On July 16 2009 at approximately 3:46 pm, Police were called to a North Front Street business in relation to three male shoplifters. When confronted by the Loss Prevention Officer, one of the three males became assaultive. As a result of the investigation by Police, a 16 year old Quinte West youth has been arrested and charged with one count of Assault, Theft Under, and Fail To Comply with and Officer In Charge Undertaking. He was held for a Bail Hearing on 17 July 2009. A second youth, a 14 year old male, was also arrested and charged with one count of Theft Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order. He was released on a Promise to Appear and an Officer in Charge Undertaking with conditions.  He is scheduled to appear in court in August 2009.  The third male youth in this incident was released from custody unconditionally, although has been trespassed from the incident location for a period of two years. 

Theft from Motor Vehicle

Belleville, Ontario ? On July 16 2009 at approximately 6:26pm, Police were called to a location on Sinclair Street in response to a theft.  Investigation revealed that some time throughout the day, suspect(s) entered a parked GMC Truck, removing an IPod and Satellite Radio.  Investigation is continuing.

Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario ? On  July 16 2009 at approximately 7:29pm, Police received a complaint from a Station Street residence in relation to an attempted Break and Enter that may have occurred some time on the 15th of July.  Investigation confirmed that no entry to the residence was made. 

Liquor License Act

Belleville, Ontario ? On July 17 2009 at approximately 4:37am, police were called to a Gavy Street residence in response to an intoxicated male attempting to enter a home. Police located the male and investigation indicated this male resided just a little further down the road. The 19 year old Belleville male was taken home and turned over to his father.
