Break & Enter(s)

Belleville, Ontario ? Sometime between 6:00 p.m. on July 14, 2010 and 9:00 a.m. on July 15th, suspects gained entry to a business at 173 Dundas St East. Entry was gained through a heating and cooling vent on the roof. Once inside suspects took cash from the business. It appears the suspects left the business the same way they came in. No other damage was reported and this Break & Enter is still under investigation.

Belleville, Ontario ? On July 16, 2010 at 12:45 a.m. a home owner on Ridley Street West reported a Break & Enter to a lower unit within their residence. Entry was gained by smashing a window in the basement level of the residence. Although nothing was taken it appears the suspect injured himself as police found blood in the area where entry was gained. This incident is under investigation.

Fraud

Belleville, Ontario ? On July 15, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. police responded to complaint of a possible fraud at the Home Depot on Bell Blvd.

Store employees reported two suspicious persons attempting to use a cheque, which they believed to be fraudulent, to purchase flooring. Further investigation revealed the cheque belonged to a business in Toronto and when contacted by police the business reported several of their company cheques were missing.

The two suspects were approached by police and gave verbal and physical identification, which later turned out to be false.

Michelle Van Noten, 25 years old from Scarborough has been charged with three counts each of Possession of Stolen Property, once count of Fraud and one count of Possession of Drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Patrick Sanderson, 47 years old from Scarborough, has been charged with one count of Fraud, one count of Possession of Stolen Property and one count of Obstruct Police.

Both are scheduled to appear for a Bail Hearing on July 16th.

Theft from Vehicle(s)

Belleville, Ontario ? Suspects entered three vehicles parked in the City of Belleville between the 15th and 16th of July. The vehicles were parked on Harriett Street, Progress Ave and Woodley Court. Items stolen included athletic equipment and money.

Licensed Premise Checks

Belleville, Ontario ? Members of the Belleville Police Service attended along representatives from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario with inspecting several licensed premises in the City of Belleville on July 15, 2010. As a result of the inspections no violations were observed therefore no charges laid.
