Belleville, Ontario - On the 16 th of May 2009 at approximately , a vehicle was observed striking a parked car in the parking lot of a west end bar. This vehicle failed to remain at the scene of the accident.Officers stopped the car on Dundas Street East at Front Street.The driver registered a ?Fail? on the roadside screening device and was subsequently arrested for the offence of ?Over 80 mgs.? There was no apparent damage to the parked vehile he had collided into. In order to facilitate his release from custody, the 34 year old Montreal man was escorted to a bank machine by Police in order to raise the required $500.00 cash deposit for his release.Once the funds were obtained, he was released on an Officer-in-charge Recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in court on the 04th of June 2009 having been charged with one count of "Over 80 Mgs".
Theft / Possession
Belleville, Ontario - On the 16th of May 2009, at approximately , Police were called to a parking lot of an east end Belleville apartment building.The building Superintendent had lawfully arrested a male who was observed stealing items from parked vehilces within the parking lot. He was also in possession of a sheathed sword. Police continued the arrest and further investigation revealed this male had stolen a pick-up truck earlier in the night from the MacDonaldGardens area.This stolen vehicle was recovered nearby.The items stolen from the parked cars were also recovered by Police. As a result, a 22 year old Belleville man has been charged with Theft over $5000.00, Possession of Stolen Property, Theft Under and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. The accused was later released with a court date in June 2009.
Belleville, Ontario - On the 16th of May 2009 at , Police attended at a west end Belleville Pharmacy in relation to a female shoplifter.A 29 year old Cobourg woman was charged with one count of Theft under $5000.00.She will appear in court on the 2nd of July 2009.

Belleville, Ontario - On the 16th of May 2009 at , Officers responded to a west end apartment building where an intoxicated male was prepared to drive his vehicle.Upon arrival, the Officers observed this male standing beside the vehicle. The intoxicated male was causing a disturbance by yelling at people nearby.The 43 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act.His vehicle, which was parked in a ?No Parking? zone, was towed.
Belleville, Ontario - On the 16th of May 2009, at , Police were checking a number of residences to ensure compliance with court-imposed conditions on individuals commonly referred to as Operation Doorknock.One such check revealed that the person-of-interest was not at home despite his court imposed curfew. While still on scene, officers observed this subject walking up the street towards them. Officers further discovered that this male had been consuming alcohol which resulted in a further Breach of his Recognizance and court imposed conditions.The 20 year old Belleville man was arrested without incident and held for Bail on two counts of Breach of Recognizance. Due to the Statutory Holiday, he will appear for Bail on Tuesday the 19th of May 2009.
