Directed Enforcement Downtown

The Belleville Police Service has concluded a lengthy project focusing on prostitution in the downtown. A total of 14 charges against 14 men have been laid as a result of the undercover prostitution investigation. Culminating in a two night period, police targeted men seeking street prostitutes in the downtown area. The suspects, who ranged in age from 35 to 81, were all released at the scene for a court date with specific conditions. They were all charged with Communication for the Purpose of Prostitution.

The rationale behind this lengthy investigative approach is to determine the level of the problem, and then to identify and arrest those responsible.

The Belleville Police Service continues to employ a variety of enforcement activities focusing on issues in the downtown utilizing various enforcement techniques including foot patrol, plain clothes assignments and the downtown cameras.

4. Ronald Cooney 50 Belleville

5. Sean Holmes 44 Trenton

6. Richard Broad 49 Picton

7. Sean Mitchoff 35 Flinton

8. Doug Noonan 71 Belleville

9. Don Quibell 81 Belleville

10. Richard Loner 54 Ameliasburgh

11. Gerald Tracey 46 Belleville

12. James Keith Cousins 71 Belleville

13. Darren Fletcher 42 Trenton

14. Robert Gratton 39 Tweed

All charged persons have been released to a court date of October 31st, 2013
