Belleville, Ont. - On June 17, 2009, at 3:00 a.m., two males were observed on Front Street with what appeared to be the initial stages of a fight. An officer intervened and sent the males in separate directions. Several minutes later, one of the males was observed circling back. A fight ensued, however the Officer was able to break the fight up. Both males were arrested and a 31 year old Belleville man was charged with Public Intoxication and a 20 year old Belleville male was released unconditionally.
Belleville, Ont. - On June 17, 2009, at 4:00 p.m., a 14 year old Belleville girl was arrested after a disturbance in Thurlow Ward. She was charged with 2 counts of Assault and Breach of an Undertaking. She was released with a July court date.
Intoxicated male wanders into house
Belleville, Ont. - On June 17, 2009, at 6:30 p.m., a home owner in the City?s west end was startled when an unknown man walked into her house. The male left upon her request. He was observed by Police stumbling away from the residence. This male was initially arrested for ?Unlawfully in a Dwelling House?, but his high intoxication level led to a charge of ?Public Intoxication?. A further check revealed that he was also wanted by the Belleville Police Service on warrants from 2008. These charges include Breach of Probation and Failing to Appear in Court. The 47 year Belleville man was held for Bail on June 18, 2009.
Breach of the Peace
Belleville, Ont. - On June 17, 2009, at 9:00 p.m., Police responded to a west hill residence in relation to a family disturbance. Police spoke to a 15 year old girl who was shrieking at her mother from a second floor window. The mother had been locked out of the house and refused entry. The youth was arrested by police for Breach of the Peace and eventually released unconditionally to another family member.
Arrest on Warrants
Belleville, Ont. - On June 17, 2009, at 11:50 p.m., an officer stopped a car on West Moira St. as she recognized the driver as a ?wanted person?. A 36 year old Belleville man was arrested on the strength of outstanding warrants held by the Cobourg Police Service. A 39 year old Belleville woman was also arrested for violating one of her bail conditions. The woman was charged with Breach of a Recognizance and released with a July court date. The driver was turned over to the Cobourg Police Service. He was also issued a ticket for an Expired Validation Tag contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
