Fail to Provide Necessaries of Life

Belleville, Ontario - On the 14th of March 2015, at about 11:00PM the Belleville Police received a complaint from the Highland Shores Children’s Aid concerning injuries to an infant.  The Criminal Investigations Branch began an investigation into injuries sustained by an infant baby at Belleville General Hospital. The five week old baby remains in hospital care with a skull fracture. No other details will be provided.

On the 17th March 2015, the infant’s mother was arrested, charged and held for a show cause hearing set for March 20th 2015. The 31 year old Shannonville woman is charged with Fail to Provide Necessaries of Life. The accused will not be identified by police.
