Belleville, Ontario – On March 16th, 2018, at 8:30 p.m. officers were called to a Front Street apartment regarding a disturbance. Officers discovered that a woman was throwing items around in the apartment. The 41-year-old woman was arrested for breach of the peace. Alcohol was a factor in this incident. No one was injured.
On March 16th, 2018, at 11:20 p.m. police responded to a Station Street residence regarding a fight call. A 50-year-old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place. The male suffered a minor injury in the fight but did not require medical attention.
On March 17th, 2018, at 1:30 a.m. officers attended in the parking lot of the police station as a cab driver was reporting an intoxicated male in his taxi. The cab driver indicated that he had driven his fare initially to Trenton. Once in Trenton the male wished to return to Belleville. The male had no money on him and was attempting to pay his cab fare with cigarettes. The 22-year-old Quinte West man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. The male promised to make restitution with the cab driver to avoid a criminal charge of transportation fraud.
