Mischief

Belleville, Ontario ? On the 17th of April 2009 at approximately 3:30 am, police were called to a disturbance at Loyalist College.  Further investigation determined that a male had smashed out a window at the security kiosk within the parking lot.  A 19 year old male was arrested and charged with one count of Mischief. 

 

Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario ? On the 17th of April 2009 at approximately 9:00 am police were called to a business on Black Diamond Road in relation to a break and enter.  Investigation determined that two boats and a trailer were stolen and significant damages were caused by the suspect(s).   Anyone with information in relation to this Break and Enter is asked to call Belleville Police Services or Crimestoppers.

Belleville, Ontario ? On the 17th April 2009 at 5:46pm, Police were called to a residence on Pine Street in regards to a Break and Enter. Investigation revealed that several pieces of jewellery had been stolen.  The investigation is continuing.

Bail Violations
Belleville, Ontario - On the 17th of April 2009 at approximately 10:00am, a male attended Belleville Police Services to sign in as a condition of his Recognizance of Bail. The officer at the front desk noted that the accused had failed to sign in earlier 10th of April 2009 as required by his recognizance. The officer also detected a strong odour of alcohol from the male?s breath also contrary to a condition of his Recognizance of Bail.  The accused, a 33 year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with two counts of Failing to Comply with his Recognizance and was held for a Bail Hearing later this date.  
 
Indecent Act 

Belleville, Ontario ? On  the 17th of April 2009 at 5:35pm, police were called to the Quinte Mall, 390 North Front Street, in regards to a male who was committing indecent acts. Officers arrived on scene, and were directed to where a male was waiting at the security office.  Further investigation revealed that he was in possession of several items and had been observed throughout the mall to be using them in an offensive and indecent manner.  The suspect, a 32 year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with one count of Indecent Act.  He was released from the scene on an Appearance Notice with a court date in May 2009.

  

 Liquor Licence Act

Belleville, Ontario ? On 17 April 2009 at 7:32pm, Police were called to a disturbance on Everett Street.  Police arrested a 25 year old Belleville man for being Intoxicated in a Public Place, who was later released from custody with a Provincial Offences Notice. 

 

Weapons

Belleville, Ontario ? On 17th of  April 2009 at approximately 2:00pm, Belleville Police Service received information of two suspicious males in the area of Farley Ave in possession of what appeared to be a firearm. As officers responded to the area, further precautionary measures were taken by placing the two schools in the immediate area, Harry J. Clarke Public School and Moira Secondary School on a School Lock Down while police continued their investigation.  Police officers contained the area and several officers and the K-9 Unit conducted a ground search and door to door canvassing in an attempt to locate and identify these two males.   

Shortly before 4:00pm on the 17th of April 2009 police successfully located and spoke with both suspects in an East end home. A pellet rifle was seized pending further investigation.  Both teenage males were cautioned in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
