Drug Warrant

Belleville, Ontario – On April 15th, 2013, members of the Belleville Police Service Uniform Division, Street Crime Unit, and the Drug Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a Station St. apartment,

Located inside the residence was a marijuana grow operation. Also located inside this unit was processed marijuana, weigh scales and debt lists. A 24 year old male and 20 year old female, both of Belleville, were charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and production of a controlled substance. A 32 year old Madoc man was charged with possession of a controlled substance. All three will appear in court on May 30th, 2013.

Multiple counts of shoplifting

Belleville, Ontario –On April 16th, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. police attended at north end retail outlet in relation to a theft of electric razors totaling $800.00. The suspect had fled the store, but an officer recognized the male after reviewing the video footage. The 35 year old Belleville man was located and arrested. He was also charged with four other incidents of theft from the same store over a three month period. These thefts include razors totaling $3800.00 and electric toothbrushes totaling $1700.00. When arrested, this male had morphine tablets in his possession. He was held for a bail hearing.

Bail Violation

Belleville, Ontario –On April 16th, 2013 at 5:25 p.m., a 27 year old Belleville man was arrested on a surety revocation warrant. He was held for a bail hearing on his original charges.

Domestic Assault

Belleville, Ontario – On April 16th, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. police attended at a Byron Street residence in response to a complaint of a domestic disturbance. Investigation of this complaint resulted in a 20 year old Belleville man being arrested and charged with one count of Assault and one count of Assault causing bodily harm. He was held for a bail hearing. The victim received minor injuries during this incident.

Shoplifters

Belleville, Ontario –On April 16th, 2013, at 8:15 p.m., police attended at a north end retail outlet in relation to a shoplifter. A 29 year old Belleville man was charged with theft under $5000.00 and breach of probation. He was released with a courtdate of May 23rd.

On April 16th, 2013, at 10:30 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop and observed a passenger who was wanted for a March shoplifting incident. A 21 year old Belleville man was released with a courtdate of May 30th. His charges include theft under $5000.00 and breach of probation.

Theft//Resist//Assault Police

Belleville, Ontario On April 16th, 2013, at 11:00 p.m. police attended at a north end hotel in relation to a theft. It was revealed that a male suspect had entered the hotel and carried away the cash register. The video footage was reviewed and officers recognized the suspect. The suspect was located a short time later and resisted arrest. During this struggle the suspect kicked one of the officers. A 16 year old male was held for a bail hearing on charges of theft, possession of stolen property, resist arrest, and assault police. Police also recovered most of the money, but the cash register is still outstanding. The officers were not injured in this incident.

Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario – On April 16th, 2013, at 11:25 p.m., officers observed two youths on North Front St. who were wanted for a break and enter to a west end business on April 14th. A 15 year old youth and 19 year old Belleville were arrested. They will appear in court in May on charges of break, enter and theft and possession of stolen property. Police recovered the property which was copper pipe.

Assault//Threats

Belleville, Ontario – On April 17th, 2013, at 1:00 a.m., police attended at a Station Street apartment building in relation to a neighbour dispute. Investigation led to the arrest of a 52 year old Belleville man. He was held for a bail hearing on charges of assault and uttering death threats. No one was injured in this incident.
