Liquor Licence Act
Belleville, Ont. ? On August 17, 2009 at approximately 2:05a.m., an officer on routine patrol on Isabel Street observed a male urinating on the side of the road. The male was extremely intoxicated and do to the state of intoxication was unable to articulate his address. The 19 year old, Belleville resident was arrested for Public Intoxication for his own protection. He was later released on a Provincial Offence Notice for this offence.
Unwanted Person
Belleville, Ont. ? On August 17, 2009 at approximately 4:05a.m., police were called to a Moira Street East residence to investigate a report of an unwanted person. The male in question was located in front of the residence and found to be intoxicated. A 47 year old Shannonville man was arrested for his own protection for public intoxication. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service and later released on a Provincial Offence Notice.
Thefts from Motor Vehicles:
Belleville, Ont. ? On August 17, 2009, Police received several reports of theft from motor vehicles;
A truck parked at Meyer?s Pier was broken into during the night. The owner, a resident of Rochester, NY reported to police that a large amount of property was stolen during the incident. Luggage bags and lap-top computers were among some of the items taken.
A vehicle parked on William Street was entered during the night. Although the vehicle was not damaged, a small amount of Canadian currency was taken. Two other vehicles parked on William Street were rummaged through. Although there was no reported damage to either, property was strewn around both vehicles.
A vehicle parked on Bell Blvd was entered sometime over night. Entry was gained through an insecure window. Suspects took cash and food items.
A vehicle in the north-west end was also entered during the night. The vehicle owner reported that someone had entered the vehicle and it appeared the unknown suspect(s) rummaged through some property in the vehicle, yet nothing was reported stolen.
A vehicle on Ann St was broken into. A small quantity of money and a set of two way radios were reported stolen along with other personal accessories.
Stolen Licence Plates:
Belleville, Ont. ? On August 17, 2009, sometime over night suspects stole the front and rear plates from a motor vehicle parked on Tripp Avenue. Taken was Ontario plates ?996-4JD.?
Arrest on Warrant:
Belleville, Ont. ? On August 17, 2009, at 1:00 a.m., A Quinte area man wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant held by Central Hastings OPP turned himself into the Belleville Police Service. The 21-year old man, whose name has not been released, was arrested on the strength of the warrant. He was held by Belleville Police and later turned over to the OPP for further disposition.
