Domestics

Belleville, Ont., - On February 17 2009 at 6:00 p.m., Police responded to a Domestic in the City?s east end.  It was alleged that a man had punched a woman in the back of her head.  She was then threatened by the man.  As a result, a 44 year old Belleville man was arrested for one count of Assault and Uttering Death Threats.  He was held for a Bail Hearing on February 18, 2009.

 

Belleville, Ont., - On February 17 2009 at 6:30 p.m., a woman attended at the Police Station to report threats made to her by her ex-boyfriend.  As a result of an investigation, a 23 year old Belleville man was charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm.  He was released on conditions with an April courtdate.

 

Belleville, Ont., - On February 17 2009 at 10:30 p.m., Police responded to a disturbance at a City west end apartment. The initial complaint reported to police indicated that a male party had brandished a knife.  As a result, a 54 year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with one count of Assault with a Weapon.  There were no injuries in this incident and it appears alcohol was a contributing factor.  The accused male will appear in court in April.

 

Bar Fight/Distrubance

Belleville, Ont., - On February 18 2009 at 2:30 a.m., Officers came across a fight in the parking lot of the Go Go Club on N. Front St..  One combatant was taken into custody.  Once it was learned that no one had a complaint, the male party was turned over to a responsible friend.  No charges arising from this incident.

 

Drivers charged with Driving under Suspension

Belleville, Ont., - On February 17 2009 at 11:30 p.m., an Officer stopped a van on Catharine St. which had a single licence plate.  The plate was not authorized for circulation on the vehicle.  A further check revealed that the driver was a suspended driver.   A 30 year old Belleville man was charged with Driving under Suspension and will appear in Traffic Court in April.  The single plate was seized, and the van was towed.
