Hit an Run

Belleville, On - At approximately 8:45 pm Police received a call concerning a minor motor vehicle collision in a parking lot on North Front Street. One of the drivers stopped briefly and then sped off without giving the other driver the information required. The suspect driver was followed to a parking lot on Dundas Street East where Police caught up to the fail to remain driver. As a result of the investigation a 61 year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with Failing to Provide a sample of breath and Fail to Remain at the scene of a collision. The male will appear in court in February 2010.

Drinking and Driving

Belleville On - Officers on patrol located several drivers who were found to be under the influence of alcohol throughout the night. Three 72 hr license suspensions were handed out. In one incident a driver gave false identification to the officer. The Toronto male was arrested and charged with Personation, Obstruct police and driving while disqualified.

Parole Violation

Belleville, On ? At approximately 4:00 am an extremely intoxicated male attended the front desk of the Police station advising that he was breaching his parole conditions and proceed to list all of the conditions being breached. The 38 year old Ottawa male was taken into custody. Corrections Canada was contacted and the male's parole was immediately revoked. The male is being returned to the Federal Prison system.
