Assault

Belleville, Ontario – On May 16th, 2015 at 6:22 a.m. police attended at a residence on Dundas Street East in relation to a domestic disturbance.  As a result of an investigation, a 25 year old Belleville man was arrested for one count of assault. There was also a warrant for his arrest stemming from his non-attendance in Traffic Court.  He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing on Tues. May 19th. The victim did not require medical attention.

Dangerous Driving

Belleville, Ontario – On May 16th, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. police attended on Benjamin Street as a male reported that he had been struck by a car. The investigation revealed that the driver of the car had been chasing the male who was on foot.  At one point the front end of the car came into contact with the male who was knocked to the ground.  A 40 year old Quinte West man was arrested and charged with dangerous driving and uttering death threats. He will appear in court on June 25th, 2015. The victim suffered only minor injuries.

Intoxicated persons

Belleville, Ontario – On May 16th, 2015 at 1:27 p.m. police attended on Albert Street regarding a male lying on the street.  An 18 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act.

On May 17th, 2015, at 12:45 a.m. an officer on patrol observed a male stumbling out into traffic on College Street West. A 29 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act.

On May 17th, 2015, at 2:35 a.m. officers attended on Marsh Drive in relation to a street disturbance involving four people.  A 40 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. No one was injured.

Theft from parked cars

Belleville, Ontario – On May 17th, 2015, at 3:00 a.m. police received reports of several males going through parked cars in the University Avenue area. Two were apprehended at the scene while a third male fled on foot. The third male was located on College Street East. Property in the form of change purses and sunglasses has been recovered. Several cars had been entered on Tice Cres. and Greenhill Lane. One of the youths was 17 years of age while the other two were 16 years of age. An open bottle of alcohol was seized from one of the youths. After notifying the parents, the youths were issued tickets under the Liquor Licence Act for underage drinking.
