Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario ? On 16 November, 2011 at between 5:19 p.m. and 6:13 p.m., police attended at a residences on Coleman Street and Moira Street East in response to complaints of break and enters. It was reported that unknown person(s) entered these residences between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. and stole electronics. These investigations are ongoing.

Assault Police

Belleville, Ontario ? On 16 November, 2011 at 9:14 p.m., police attended at a residence on Emily Street in response to a 911 complaint of a disturbance.

Investigation of this disturbance revealed that there were 2 males and 1 female in the residence and that an argument ensued between one male and the female. It is alleged that while police were attempting to deescalate the situation the male (that was involved in the argument with the female) continually refused to cooperate with police and ultimately assaulted an officer.

Richard Terry (43 years) of Belleville has been charged with one count of Assault Police. Terry is scheduled to appear in Provincial court on 22 December, 2011.

Indecent Act

Belleville, Ontario ? On 16 November, 2011 at 12:07 p.m., police were informed of a complaint of an indecent act that occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. on the path at East Zwick's park.

It was reported to police that 2 females were walking east on the path and were approached by a male walking west bound.

This male is described as:

  • Caucasian, approximately 5'8? in height and 175 lbs and of an average build and in his mid 20's and having dark stubble on his face
  • Wearing a black touque, a black jacket (with red under the arms), black pants (not denim possibly nylon), wearing a grey or beige backpack

While this male approached the females he exposed his genitalia and then veered from the path and continued to walk on the grass in a northbound direction (over the hill that is used for tobogganing towards the dog park).

This investigation is ongoing. Police are seeking the assistance of the public in identify this male. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 613 966 0882.

Transportation Fraud

Belleville, Ontario ? On 16 November, 2011 at 2:29 p.m., police attended on Front Street in response to a complaint of 3 males refusing to pay their cab fare. Investigation of this complaint resulted in all three males being charged Obtaining Transportation by Fraud and 2 of males being charged with one additional count each of Breach of Probation.

All 3 males are scheduled to appear in Provincial court on 5 January 2012.

Belleville Police Service would like to remind the public that failure to pay for food and transportation is a Criminal Offence. As well, that offences of this nature will be investigated and if warranted the offenders will be charged accordingly.
