The girls were located by officers Friday afternoon without incident.

An Early Online Grinch

BELLEVILLE, ON. - The public should be wary of independent online advertisements offering snow removal services in the Belleville area after a local homeowner was taken for money following Friday’s snowfall.

In responding to an online ad posted regarding snow removal, a male attended a home in the City to collect the cash Friday afternoon, but left without removing the snow.

Shortly after the encounter, the ad was removed from the website it was posted on.

Belleville police are asking the public to be cautious and prudent when hiring people through online forums or classified ads – especially if they are not associated with legitimate businesses.
