Motor Vehicle Collisions- Belleville, Ontario

During the past 24 hours Belleville Police responded to 4 motor vehicle collisions.

Three of the collisions were minor property damage only, with one collision occurring at 2:39Pm on Old Highway 2 near Mitchell Rd. A single vehicle struck a hydro pole after the driver lost control. The two occupants received minor injuries. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the Belleville Police Service.

Possession for the Purpose (Trafficking)- Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 8:05Pm an officer on patrol stopped a motorist on North Park Street for talking on his cell phone. Through investigation Police located 19.5 grams of cocaine with a street value of $1,300 and a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle. A 28 year old male from Frankford is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property and distracted driving. A quantity of cash was also seized under the proceeds of crime legislation. He was released on a promise to appear for court on the 19th of September.
