Drugs and Weapons

As a result of a traffic stop on the 17th of June 2015 by the Belleville Police Service, the following persons have been arrested and charged:

Paul Howard, 68 years old, of Belleville has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, 2 counts of Possession of Dangerous Weapon and Possession of Proceeds of Crime; and Travis Todhunter, 33 years old of Belleville has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, 2 counts of Possession of Dangerous Weapon and Possession of Proceeds of Crime.

Both males were charged and released on a Promise to Appear with an upcoming court date in Belleville on the 23rd of July 2015.

Barricaded Person – Knife

At 6:21pm on the 17th June 2015 Belleville Police Service responded to a residence in the Roslin area for a report of an agitated person with a knife. Patrol Officers requested the Emergency Response Team, Detectives and a Negotiator. At 8:10pm after almost a 2 hour stand-off, the 58 year old male subject was apprehended safely. No charges were laid and there will be no further information released.

Serious Motor Vehicle Collision

On 17th June 2015 at 10:04pm Belleville Police Service, EMS and Belleville Fire Department responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision after an off-duty Belleville City Officer came across the crash on Highway #37 at Wiser Road. Belleville Officers turned the investigation over to Ontario Provincial Police. For any further information please contact OPP.

Driving Under Influence

On the 17th June 2015 at 11:43pm a Belleville Police Service Officer stopped an erratic driver on North Front Street. As a result of the subsequent investigation 29 year old Jeremy Johnson of Belleville was arrested and charged with reading over 80 milligrams and was released to appear in criminal court on a later date.    

Disturbance – Knife

On 18th June 2015 at 1:41am a Belleville Police Service Officer on patrol in central Belleville came across a disturbance involving a knife and several persons. A 37 year old Belleville man was arrested and is being held for a bail hearing and is charged with several offences including assault with a weapon, domestic assault, weapons dangerous to the public peace and breach of probation.

Missing and found 7 year old      

On 18th June 2015 at 3:12am Belleville Police Service responded to a report in west end Belleville from a frantic parent waking up to find their 7 year old girl gone missing from the home. Detectives and an emergency search team were called in and at 4:38am the child was located by police in the vicinity safe and unharmed.

Disturbance – Knife

On 18th June 2015 at 4:20 am Belleville Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance with a knife in the west end of the city involving several persons. A 24 year old Belleville woman was safely apprehended and held in cells for her own safety. No charges were laid.
