Tires slashed in east end
Belleville, ON – On June 17th 2019 at 9:44 a.m., police were called to the east hill area of the city for reports of tires being slashed on a motor vehicle and a bicycle. The investigation revealed that this damage occurred in the parking lot of Eastside Secondary School on June 13th 2019. The investigation is continuing. Theft from downtown business
Belleville, ON – On June 17th 2019 at 12:14 p.m., police were called to a business in the downtown core for a report of a theft. An investigation revealed that during the date of June 15th 2019 an unknown person stole money from the cash register inside the location. Theft and fraudulent use of credit card
Belleville, ON – On June 17th 2019 at 1:34 p.m., police attended to a residence in the north end of the city for a report of a theft and use of a credit card. An investigation revealed an elderly gentleman may have been pick-pocketed a couple of days prior, and had his bank account accessed. Police report the loss to be approximately $2,000.00. Motor vehicle collision results in charge
Belleville, ON – On June 17th 2019 at 2:50 p.m., police responded to the Sidney Street and Moira Street West area for a motor vehicle collision involving three vehicles. There were no injuries reported, but police did note moderate property damage to the involved automobiles. The investigation resulted in a 55-year old female driver being charged with the offence of “careless driving.” Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed this to please contact investigating officer Cst. Theft of licence plates
Belleville, ON – On June 17th 2019 at 3:19 p.m., police received a report of a stolen licence plate form a residence in the far north end of the city. An investigation revealed the theft to have occurred on June 12th 2019. The Ontario plate reads “CDKM-700.” Police are asking anyone who may see this plate, or who may know who is responsible for the theft of it to please contact investigating officer Sgt. On June 17th 2019 at 5:23 p.m. police attended to another call for a reported theft of licence plates from the car-pool lot near Highway #37 and the 401. The complainant had parked earlier in the morning and attended to his job site. Upon returning to the car later in the afternoon, it was discovered both Ontario plates had been removed from his vehicle. The plates read as “CHBN-676.” The investigation is continuing and police are asking anyone who may have information as to who may responsible for this theft to please contact investigating officer Cst. Theft from motor vehicle; police seeking suspect
Belleville, ON – On June 17th 2019 at 6:48 p.m., police were called to a Church Street location for a report of a theft of a wallet from a motor vehicle. A female victim had left her place of work to attend her motor vehicle in the business parking lot. She observed a door to her vehicle had been opened. A white male, described as being in his late 20’s with brown hair wearing jeans, a buttoned blue shirt, and wearing a black cap backwards on his head, was witnessed leaving the scene towards the rear of Dairy Queen on a white bicycle. He had a wallet belonging to the victim in his possession. The area was immediately searched, but the suspect was not located. Arrested on warrants
Belleville, ON – On June 17th 2019 at 7:58 p.m., police attended to a neighbourhood on the south-west side of the city to arrest a man wanted on warrants. The man, wanted for the offences of spousal assault and failing to comply with a recognizance, was arrested without incident. The 34-year old city man was taken into custody and is being held pending a bail hearing. Police are not releasing his name at this time in order to protect the identity of the victim.
Belleville, ON – Police attended to numerous other calls for assistance throughout the previous 24-hour period. These included suspicious person and vehicles, traffic complaints, threats, child-custody and family disputes, unwanted persons, alarms and domestic disturbances. Police also investigated six 911call/911hang-ups. All were deemed to be dialed by accident or in error. All other matters were investigated and cleared without arrests or charges.
