Motor vehicle collisions
Belleville, Ontario – City police investigated 4 motor vehicle collisions within the preceding 24-hour period.
On September 18th 2018 at 8:12 a.m. police responded to the area of Bleecker Avenue and Emily Street for a report of a collision involving a motor vehicle and a school bus. Damage was reported as moderate. No injuries were reported. An investigation resulted in a 67-year old man being charged under the Highway Traffic Act with the offence of “start from stopped position – not in safety.”
At 12:59 p.m. police responded to the College Street West and North Front Street area for a collision involving two vehicles. Damage was moderate and one motor vehicle was towed from the scene. A 34-year old man was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with the offence of “fail to yield from private roadway.”
At 1:42 p.m. police responded to the area of Bell Boulevard and Wallbridge-Loyalist Road for a collision involving two motor vehicles. Damage was noted to be extensive. An investigation resulted with a 39-year old man being charged under the Highway Traffic Act with “careless driving.”
A fourth collision was reported to police at 4:50 p.m. from a private property location on Bell Boulevard. Damage was reported as “minor” and there was no report of any injuries.
Shoplifting
