Liquor Licence Act  

 Belleville, Ontario - On the 19th of April 2009 at approximately 12:51 am Police were called to a North Front Street business to investigate a report of an intoxicated male who claimed to have been assaulted by the staff at a North Front Street bar. The investigation revealed that the assault allegation was unfounded and the male was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act and transported to the Belleville Police Service. A 22 year old Belleville man was charged with Public Intoxication and later released on a Provincial Offences Notice.

 

Mischief 

 Belleville, Ontario - On the 19th of April 2009 at approximately 1:09 am, Police were called to a North Front Street business to investigate a report that a male youth had kicked in a window at the front of the North Front Street store. A description of the suspect was passed on to Police and he was located nearby and arrested.  A 17 year old Mansfield, Ont. youth faces a charge of Mischief Under $5000. He was released from the scene on an Appearance Notice.

 

Trespassing  

Belleville, Ontario - on the 19th of April 2009, at approximately 1:36 am Police were called to a North Front Street bar to investigate a report of an altercation. A male party who was on scene and involved in the incident was directed to leave and refused to do so.  The male was arrested at the scene for Trespassing and was then transported to the Belleville Police Service. A 21 year old Belleville man faces a charge of Failing to Leave When Directed under the Trespass to Property Act.

 
Assault
Belleville, Ontario - On the 19th of April 2009 at  2:00pm, a male was assaulted while walking the Bay Shore trail.  The suspect was known to the victim who received minor injuries.  The victim reported the incident to Police.  As a result of the investigation, a 22 year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with one count of Assault.  He was released with conditions and a court date of 28 May 2009.
 
Fire

Belleville, Ontario - On the 19th of April 2009 at 7:20pm, Police received a call from an observant citizen who spotted 8 youths attempting to set fire to a bench at the Old Queen Mary School on Octavia Street. Several youths involved were located by Police.  All youths involved were under13 years of age.  They were escorted home and turned over to the care of their parents. All involved youths will be recommended for a fire safety program with Belleville Fire Department.  No injuries.
