Thefts from Vehicles

Belleville, Ont., - On February 19 2009 at approximately 7:30am, police were called to a City west end apartment building to investigate the report of a theft.   Investigation revealed that 4 suspects at on the night of the 18th of February at 11:25pm, smashed the drivers side window from the vehicle, stealing an HP Pavillion Laptop computer, two IPODS as well as several other items.

 

Belleville, Ont., - On February 19 2009, at approximately 9:00 am this date, police were again called to a west end residence to investigate the theft from another motor vehicle.  Stolen was a GARMIN 255 TOUCH SCREEN GPS.

 

Belleville, Ont., - On February 19 2009 at 11:52 hrs, police were called to the city?s northwest industrial park for another theft from vehicle, a tractor trailer.  Complainant reports the theft of a brief case containing personal identification as well as other documents.

 

Belleville, Ont., - On February 19 2009 at 10:27 pm police took another report of a theft from a vehicle.  The passenger rear window was smashed to gain entry and the suspect(s) stole a khaki colored gym bag containing fitness clothes and running shoes as well as a fitness club id card.  Investigations are continuing.

 
Police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles, and not to leave valuables or items in vehicles in plain view enticing would be thieves, similar to the Lock It or Lose It programs.

 

Break and Enter

Belleville, Ont., - On 19 February 2009 at 11:39 am, police attended a west end Sidney Street Apartment building in regards to a break and enter.  Investigation determined that sometime between the hours of 2230 on Feb 18 and 0700 hrs on Feb 19, 2009, unknown person(s) forced open the door of  the office for the building. Suspect(s) stole a computer tower and monitor for a black Dell computer, as well as all power cords belonging to this computer. Investigation is continuing.

 

Driving Disqualified

Belleville, Ont., - On February 19 2009 at approximately 2pm, police stopped a vehicle on Dundas Street East.  In checking the driver, it was revealed that the 48 year old Belleville woman was Prohibited Driving for Over 80mgs. As a result, she was arrested and charged with drive disqualified and later released with a court date of March 2009.  The vehicle was towed from the scene as well.

 

Shoplifting

Belleville, Ont,.- On February 19 2009 at 6:45pm police were called to a north end business to investigate an incident of shoplifting. Investigation determined that earlier in the afternoon at about 3:10pm approximately $1000.00 worth of cell phones and accessories had been stolen.  Investigation is ongoing.

 

Mischief

Belleville, Ont ? On 19 February 2009 at approximately 10:10pm police were called to a west end group home residence for a female youth who was combative and causing damage to property.  Police arrived and a 17 year old female was taken into custody and charged with one count of Mischief.  She was later released with a court date in April 2009.
