Drug seizure

Belleville, Ontario –On January 18th, 2013, at 10:45 a.m. Police attended at Quinte Secondary School in relation to a drug investigation. Drug paraphernalia and marijuana were seized and a 16 year old male was arrested. This youth will appear in Belleville Youth Court on a charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Arrested on Warrants

Belleville, Ontario – On January 18th, 2013, at 11:45 p.m., police were conducting bar checks in the downtown core when four males suddenly exited the rear of one of the bars. Three of the males were 18 years of age, while the fourth was 17 years of age. A check revealed that one of the 18 year old males was wanted by the Belleville Police Service for carrying a concealed weapon and failing to appear in court. This male was eventually released with a courtdate of January 24th, 2013. All four were charged under the Liquor Licence Act for "consuming alcohol under the age of 19 years”.

Impaired Driver

Belleville, Ontario – On January 19th, 2013, at 12:30 a.m., Police responded to the Quinte Mall parking lot in relation to a complaint of an impaired driver. An investigation led to the arrest of a 38 year old Belleville woman. She was charged with "over 80 mgs” and will appear in court later this month.

Intoxicated person(s)

Belleville, Ontario – On January 19th, 2013, at 2:35 a.m. police attended at Bridge St. East at William St. in relation to a man passed out on the sidewalk. A 60 year old Prince Edward County man was arrested for public intoxication.

At 4:00 a.m., police were called to the Tim Horton's at Cannifton & College in relation to a sleeping patron. A 48 year old Belleville man was eventually awakened and transported to a nearby residence.


Belleville, Ontario – On January 19th, at 3:40 a.m. an officer on patrol in the downtown core observed two suspicious males on Great St. James St. These males discarded several items before fleeing towards the Riverfront Trail. Assisting officers located the pair and it was determined that all of the property had been stolen from a nearby Donation Bin. A 27 year old Prince Edward County man and a 29 year old Prince Edward County man have been charged with Theft under $5000 and will appear in court on February 28th. All of the property was returned.
