Motor Vehicle Collisions

Belleville, Ontario – During the last 24 hours police attended 15 different MVC’s at various locations throughout the city. All of these accidents resulted in mostly property damage only. The icy road conditions were a major factor.

Assault Causing Bodily Harm

Belleville, Ontario – at 12:30pm on January 18th, 2016 a male party was at the Metro Grocery Store on North Front Street. During this time he was in the store shoplifting and when store security tried to intervene he assaulted the security officer then fled the area on foot. The security officer received non-life threatening injuries. The male suspect was located a short time later by police – after a brief foot chase the male was arrested.  A 23 year old Belleville man has been charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Theft and Resist Arrest and will appear in Belleville Bail Court later today. 

Impaired Driving

Belleville, Ontario – at 2:50am police observed a vehicle driving erratically on North Park Street. The driver was known to police to be a suspended driver. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was arrested for impaired driving. Errol Salmon a 48 year old Belleville man will appear later this month in Belleville Court – charged with Impaired Driving and Drive while Suspended.
