Belleville Police Service responded to 74 calls for service from the 18th of July 2019 at 5:00 a.m. to the 19th of July 2019 at 5:00 a.m.
Belleville, Ontario – On the 18th of July at approximately 2:30 p.m., police arrested three males and a female on a number of charges after being called for shoplifting calls involving two north end retail stores. A quantity of drugs was found on one of the four and all four were transported to The Belleville Police Service where they were eventually released on promise to appears with officer charge conditions not to attend the two involved stores. Charged were 33 year-old Kingston resident Robert Dibert with two counts each of theft, possession of stolen property and breach of probation, 53 year-old Kingston resident Jamie Brushett with two counts each of theft and possession of stolen property, 61 year-old Hawkesburry resident Joseph Berthiaume with two counts of possession of stolen property and 45 year-old Allison Badour of no fixed address with two counts of possession of stolen property and one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. The thefts included vacuum cleaners and electronics. All four were given a court date of August the 15th
Arrest on Warrants
Belleville, Ontario – On the 18th of July, police were called to a west end retail store with regards to information that there was a male believed to have warrants for his arrest present. Upon arrival, police confirmed the identity of the male and the fact that warrants existed for him. There were three separate warrants that included charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of the trafficking, failing to attend court, breaching his probation and four counts of failing to comply with his recognizance. The 31 year-old Belleville male is being held in custody to be brought before a Justice of the Peace at a show cause hearing on the 19th of July at The Quinte Consolidated Court House.
Belleville, Ontario – On the 18th of July at 9:00 pm, police responded to Yeoman St. with regard to the report of a male assaulting a female with whom he was in a relationship with. Upon arrival police were approached by a witness to the assault and as a result of the investigation police arrested the 16 year old male for assault He was transported to The Belleville Police Service where he was later released to his mother on a promise to appear with officer in charge conditions not to communicate with the victim in the incident. He was given a court date of August the 6th to answer to the charge.
High School Break and Enter
Belleville, Ontario – At approximately 4:30 am on the 18th of July police responded to a report of a break and enter at East Side Secondary School. Investigation found that 3 female suspects broke into the school by smashing a window and caused further damage once inside. Video was obtained of the suspects and Belleville Police Service’s Forensic Identification Unit attended to examine the scene.
