STEP Program month of March - Reminder to Public

Belleville, Ontario The Belleville Police Service will be focusing traffic enforcement on intersection related offenses for the month of March.

The S.T.E.P. program (Selective Traffic Enforcement Program) is a service wide initiative, focused on reducing deaths and injuries related to poor driving behavior.

Officers will be watching for vehicles that don't stop for traffic signals, disobey stop signs, and follow too closely.

Motorists are reminded that Amber traffic signals mean stop, unless it is unsafe to do so. The penalty for an amber traffic signal ticket is $180 and three demand points assessed against their drivers license.

Please drive safe NOT distracted !
