Assault with a weapon

Belleville, Ontario On May 18th, 2013, at 8:10 p.m., police attended at a residence on North park Street in relation to a family dispute. An adult male had been struck with a glass bong across the back of his neck. This resulted in a deep cut, along with a shard of glass being embedded in the victim's neck. He was taken to Quinte Health Care for treatment by EMS. A 21 year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with Assault with a weapon and Assault causing bodily harm. He will appear in court on June 27th, 2013.

Intoxicated person(s)

Belleville, Ontario On May 18th, 2013, at 11:00 p.m. police attended on Wilkins St. in relation to a woman who was attempting to gain entry into a male's apartment. The homeowner did not know the woman. A 26 year old Quinte West woman was arrested for public intoxication under the Liquor Licence Act.

On May 19th, 2013, at 3:00 a.m., police attended on West Moira Street in relation to a complaint of a woman passed out on the ground. A 59 year old Belleville woman was arrested for public intoxication under the Liquor Licence Act.

On May 19th, 2013, at 3:25 a.m., police attended at Quinte Health Care in relation to an unruly patient in the Emergency Department. A 28 year old Belleville man was arrested for public intoxication under the Liquor Licence Act.

RIDE program

Belleville, Ontario On May 19th, 2013 at 1:00 a.m. police set up a RIDE check on North Front Street. A total of 60 cars were checked. No charges were laid.

Prowlers

Belleville, Ontario On May 19th, 2013, at 3:50 a.m. police attended on West Street in relation to two prowlers. A caller described two youths on bicycles checking out parked cars. An officer spotted the youths on University Avenue and they both fled. Containment was set up in the area and one of the youths was eventually arrested. The 16 year old youth was also in possession of various items believed to have been taken from cars. He faces charges of prowl by night and possession of stolen property. The investigation is continuing.
