Police Assistance - Officer helped deliver baby on side of road

Belleville, Ontario- November 18, 2012 at 04:30 a.m., while on patrol in the North Front and Bell Blvd area police observed a red vehicle travelling south bound at high rate of speed.

The male driver of the vehicle stopped and relayed the message to the officer that his wife was in severe labour. The officer's response was to immediately call for assistance and escort the vehicle to the hospital.

The red car then pulled over a second time in the area of North Front Street and College Street and stopped.

Constable Mark Hall exited his vehicle and went to assist the driver who was now at the passenger side of the car. The woman was delivering the child with the assistance of her husband (who was the driver) and Cst Hall. EMS attended and escorted the mother and child to BGH.
