Break-in to storage unit

Belleville, Ontario – On October 18th, 2013, at 12:05 a.m. police attended at a storage unit on Herchimer Avenue in relation to an intrusion alarm. An officer observed two males inside the compound by the north fence. The officer arrested one of the males while the second male scaled the fence and fled on foot. The arrested male was wearing a balaclava and was in possession of boltcutters and other assorted tools. 21 year old Aaron Hartin of Trenton was charged with break and enter with intent, wearing a disguise during the commission of an indictable offence, and possession of house-breaking tools. He was released with a courtdate of November 7th, 2013. The investigation into the identity of the second male is ongoing. Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario –On October 18th, 2013, at 11:54 a.m. police attended at a residence on Bridge Street east in relation to a report of a break and enter. The homeowner advised that the home had been broken into sometime within the last four weeks. A quantity of jewellery had been taken. Anyone with information can contact Constable Kanyo or Crimestoppers.

On October 18th, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. police received a report of a theft from an apartment. The homeowner advised that on October 14th unknown person(s) removed a black Sony Playstation 2 along with four games: Brunswick Bowling, Slugfest baseball, sonic, and wheel of fortune. A quantity of cigarettes was also taken.

Threats

Belleville, Ontario –On October 18th, 2013, at 2:35 p.m. Police attended at a residence on West Moira Street in relation to a threat. It was learned that a 17 year old youth threatened to burn the house down. He was arrested and charged with threats to damage property and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing on October 21st, 2013. The youth cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Assault causing bodily harm

Belleville, Ontario – On October 16th, 2013, at 7:25 p.m. police commenced an investigation into an assault that occurred in the city's east end. A woman was treated at Quinte Health care for facial injuries. On October 18th, 2013, at 8:15 p.m. a 50 year old Belleville man was arrested. He was charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of a peace bond. He was held for a bail hearing on October 21st, 2013. The accused and the victim are not in a relationship.

Disturbances

Belleville, Ontario – On October 18th, 2013, at 3:55 p.m. police attended on Station Street near Old Cannifton Road in relation to an unruly man. A 52 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was treated at the scene by EMS for minor injuries.

On October 18th, 2013, at 8:45 p.m. police attended on Catharine Street in relation to a fight. A 47 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was treated at the scene by EMS for minor injuries.

On October 19th, 2013, at 3:05 a.m. police attended a disturbance on North Front Street at Tracey Street. A 50 year old Belleville woman was arrested for her own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. She was also carrying an open bottle of beer which earned her a further charge of "open alcohol”.

During the same incident, a 25 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act.
