Update:  Two Males Arrested and Charged Following Disturbance Downtown

Two Belleville males have been arrested and charged following a disturbance early this morning on Front Street.

Benjamin BELLERIVE, 20 years old, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Sec. 88.  He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date in November 2016.

Richard HOGAN, 34 years old, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon x 2  Sec. 267(a) and Assault Sec. 266.  He was held for a bail hearing this date.


Belleville, Ontario – On October 19th, 2016 at 1:30 am, city police received numerous 911 calls regarding a group of males on Front St engaged in a fight involving knives & a large Machete. 

Officers flooded the area in numbers as suspects fled in different directions.  Three suspects were chased down by police and arrested and one male was taken to BGH with stab wounds that were minor in nature.  A machete was recovered on the side of road on Front St.
