CDSA Warrant and Traffic Stop Results in Arrest and Charges

On the 17th of October 2018 at approximately 5 am, members of the Belleville Police Service Intelligence/Street Crime Unit conducted a vehicle stop on Pine Street in regards to a drug trafficking investigation.  Two persons were arrested as a result of the traffic stop.  They were identified as 35 year old John Kort and 28 year old Joseph Easton-Vautour both from Belleville.  Both males were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.  Mr. Kort was held in police custody as he was also wanted by the Ontario Provincial Police.  Mr. Easton-Vautour was released with a court date in December.

Following this vehicle stop, members of the Ontario Provincial Police TRU Team executed a CDSA search warrant of a motel room in the north end of the city of Belleville.  Arrested were a 34 year male and a 35 year old female.    Both were released from police custody unconditionally following this CDSA investigation.

During the search of both the motel room, and following the vehicle stop police located a quantity of cash, cocaine and cell phones.
