Impaired Driver Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 10:08 pm on September 18, 2013 police were called to the Victoria Avenue / Pinnacle Street area to investigate a report of a vehicle driving erratically. The caller followed the vehicle until police caught up with them on Cannifton Road just south of Adam Street and pulled the car over. The female driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested and brought to the Belleville Police Service. The investigation revealed that she had over the legal limit of alcohol in her blood. Lynn Hipwell, 69, of Belleville faces charges of Impaired Driving and Over 80MG. She was later released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of October 17, 2013.

Suspicious Vehicle Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 1:10 am on September 19, 2013 officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in the Bridge Street East / Bleecker Avenue. A male passenger was wanted for Theft Under $5000 and Fraud Under $5000 on an unrelated matter and was arrested at the scene. A can of pepper spray was located in the vehicle and all three occupants were arrested for Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Weapons Dangerous. The female driver and two male passengers were transported to the Belleville Police Service and a quantity of cocaine, oxycontin, and marijuana was seized as well as digital scales, cash and a cell phone. All three were held for bail hearings on September 19th and face the following charges.

Break and Enter Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 3:54 am on September 19, 2013 officers were dispatched to a William Street residence to investigate a report of a male breaking into a garage. On arrival they found that the homeowner had been awakened by sounds in the garage and had confronted a male suspect attempting to steal tools from inside. The male had entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway and used the door opener inside it to access the area. Once confronted, he dropped the tools and fled northbound towards Forin Street. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20's, approximately 6' tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark coloured hoody with jeans and stated that his name was "Justin before fleeing from the scene. Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call the Belleville Police Service or Quinte Crimestoppers.
