Robbery
Belleville, ON – On the 31st of January at approximately 4:15 p.m., police responded to the report of a female who had been robbed. The female reported that a male in his late 40’s to early 50’s, scruffy in appearance with longer grey hair wearing a camouflaged or military style jacket, approached her on Front St. in the area of City Hall and began yelling and screaming at her before assaulting her and stealing her Montreal Canadian’s toque. The male was last seen going southbound on Front St. If anyone has information as to who the suspect may be they are encouraged to contact Sgt. Breach of undertaking
Belleville, ON – On the 31st of January shortly after 4:00 p.m., police took a report of a female who was breaching her undertaking by not attending mandatory meetings. Investigation resulted in the 27 year-old Belleville resident being charged with one count of Breach of Recognizance. She was released on a from 9 appearance notice with a February court date.
Breach of probation
Belleville, ON - On the 31st of January at 8:25 p.m., police responded to a west end residence in relation to a call that a male was breaching an alcohol related condition of his probation. The male was arrested and taken to the Belleville Police Service where he will be taken before a Justice of the Peace for a bail hearing on the 1st of February. The 64 year-old Belleville resident is facing one charge of breaching his probation.
Motor vehicle collisions
Belleville, ON – Police took reports of eleven motor vehicle collisions during the past 24 hrs. None of the accidents resulted in injuries. A driver involved in one of the accidents was charged with following too closely.
