Belleville, Ontario ? On December 2, 2009, shortly before at 6:25 p.m., shoppers were evacuated from Wal-Mart after a message was discovered in a washroom stall stating a bomb was going to detonate at 7:00 pm. Store security, in consultation with Belleville Police Service, managed the situation by taking all precautionary measures regarding Bomb Threat Management from the Explosives Branch of Natural Resources Canada. A search of the store was conducted. No explosives or related material were located. All customers were allowed back into the store shortly after 7:00 pm. The investigation is continuing.
Belleville, Ontario ? On December 2, 2009, at 6:16 p.m., a single motor vehicle collision was reported on Jamieson Bone Road. A vehicle had left the roadway, rolling through a ditch and coming to a rest after crashing into a cluster of trees. The driver, a 21 year-old Thomasburg man, was arrested at the scene for Impaired Driving. He provided breath samples which were three times the legal limit. He was charged with one count of Impaired Driving and Over 80mgs. The man was released from custody on a Promise to Appear and will appear in court in January.

Belleville, Ontario ? On December 2, 2009, at 8:45 p.m., Police arrested a 22 year old Caledonia male at Belleville General Hospital for outstanding warrants from OPP. The man was wanted on warrants for Mischief, Disguise with Intent, two counts of Possession of a Dangerous Weapons, and Escape Lawful Custody. The male was visiting a family member at Belleville General Hospital at the time of the arrest. He was taken into custody without incident and turned over to the OPP for processing.
Break & Enter
Belleville, Ontario ? On December 2, 2009, a Stanley Street home owner reported his home broken into. The incident was reported at 9:00 p.m., and the resident claims the Break & Enter occurred sometime during the day. A 42? LCD TV and money was reported stolen.
Theft from Motor Vehicle(s)
Belleville, Ontario ? On December 2, 2009, three vehicles were reported to have been entered on King George Square sometime overnight. An Acer lap top stolen from one vehicle and approximately $3000.00 worth of tools were stolen from a second vehicle. A third vehicle had its passenger window smashed and a small amount of change was taken.
