Break and Enter
Belleville, Ontario ? On 1 July, 2010, at 10:20 a.m., police attended at a business in the first block of North Front Street in response to a complaint of a break and enter. The employee reported that unknown person(s) forced entry through a window sometime between 6 p.m. on 30 June, 2010 and 10 a.m. on 1 July, 2010. The thieves stole fireworks. This investigation is ongoing.
Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle
Belleville, Ontario ? On 2 July, 2010, in the early hours police were in the area of North Front Street and Bell Blvd for an unrelated matter. Police observed a vehicle that was initially stopped at a red light at Bell Blvd and Wallbridge ? Loyalist Road. Police continued observation of this vehicle which led to the vehicle being stopped at Hamilton Road.
Investigation of this incident led to this male being charged with one count of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, one count of Operation of Motor Vehicle with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol, and one count of Drive While Disqualified. This 28 year old, Quinte West male will be held in custody for a bail hearing on 2 July, 2010 at 2 p.m. in Provincial Court.
Assault with a Weapon
Belleville, Ontario ? On 30 June, 2010 at 2:27 p.m., police were called to attend in the area of Dunbar Street for a complaint of an assault. The victim reported that he was walking to his residence when he was confronted by a male known to him. The situation escalated into threats of a physical fight. The victim attempted to leave the area but was tripped and subsequently assaulted by the accused. The victim was transported to Belleville General Hospital via ambulance. The extent of the injuries is not yet known.
A warrant for assault with a weapon and Breach of Probation is being sought for the 15 year old Belleville, male. According to the Youth Criminal Justice Act the identity of this male is not permitted to be released.
