Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario – On June 1st, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. Police attended at a resident on Everett St. in response to a complaint of a break and enter. Investigation revealed that unknown person(s) forced entry and stole cash. This occurred within the previous 24 hours. This investigation is ongoing.

Break-in to boat solved

Belleville, Ontario –Police were initially called to Meyer's Pier on May 29th in relation to a boat that had been broken into. Over a three day period, Police recovered the bulk of the stolen goods. On June 1st, 2012, 20 year old Ian Lynch of Belleville was charged with Break, Enter and Theft, and Possession of Stolen Property under $5000.00. He will appear in court on July 12th, 2012.

Accidents

Belleville, Ontario – On June 1st, 2012, Police were kept busy with 6 accidents in the afternoon.

At 11:46 a.m., a minor two-car accident was referred to the Collision Reporting Center.

At 1:30 p.m., a serious two-car accident tied up the intersection of Sidney & Bridge St. Both cars had to be towed, and minor injuries were reported by the drivers. One driver was charged with going through a red light.

At 2:04 p.m., a two-car accident occurred on College St. West . A driver was charged with failing to yield to traffic.

At 2:14 p.m., a two car accident occurred on College St. West & Lemoine St.. A driver was charged with failing to yield to traffic.

At 2:51 p.m., a minor two-car accident was reported on Moira St. West & Tripp Ave.. This matter was settled between drivers.

At 4:26 p.m., a two-car accident occurred on Holloway Heights. No charges were laid.

Disturbances

Belleville, Ontario – On June 2nd, 2012, at 12:30 a.m., Police responded to two males fighting on Front St. at Victoria Ave. The males were separated and sent on their respective ways.

On June 2nd, 2012, at 2:00 a.m., Police responded to an intoxicated male pounding on the window of a North Front St. fast food outlet. He was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. Further investigation revealed that this male had broken one of the windows of the restaurant. 20 year old Jeffrey Hedger of Belleville was charged with Mischief to Property. He will appear in Court on July 5th, 2012.

On June 2nd, 2012, at 2:45 a.m., a large fight was reported on North Front St. near Tracey St.. The crowd dispersed upon Police arrival.

On June 2nd, 2012 at 4:15 a.m., Police responded to a disturbance on campus at Loyalist College. A 23 year old Baltimore man was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. A 21 year old Grafton man was arrested for failing to leave premises when directed under the Trespass to Property Act.
