Belleville, Ont. ? On May 2, 2009, at 12:22a.m., a motorist reported to police about an erratic driver coming into the City of Belleville on Dundas St. East. Officers spotted the vehicle and when they attempted to pull it over, the driver refused to stop. The male driver was eventually pulled over on South George St and taken into custody.
A 37yr old Belleville man remains in custody for a bail hearing on Monday, charged with Impaired Driving, Excess of 80mgms, Fail to Stop for Police, Breach of undertaking and Driving under suspension.
Assault & Breach of Undertaking
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 2, 2009, at approximately 2:00a.m., a woman text messaged a friend in Manitoba, indicating she was being held against her will in an east end townhouse in the City of Belleville. The friend notified police and officers attended the residence. A 41yr old man was taken into custody and is being held for a bail hearing Monday. He faces three counts of Beaching of Undertaking and one count of Assault. There are also three warrants for charges of Assault, Break and Enter, and Breaching of Undertaking, held for this individual in Manitoba. The incident is still under investigation and further charges are pending in relation to the detaining of the woman. There were no injuries.
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 2, 2009, at approximately 2:17a.m., police were called to a disturbance on North Front Street. As a result a 19 year old Kingston woman was taken into custody an altercation at a North Front Street drinking establishment. It is alleged that she threw a glass at another woman, striking her in the face. The victim was taken to BGH for treatment and subsequently released with minor injuries. The 19 year old woman was charged with Assault with a Weapon and released on a Promise to Appear
A 28 year old Kingston man, friend of the accused, became involved in this incident and was arrested for Intoxicated in a Public Place contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 2, 2009, a 43 year old Deseronto man was arrested on outstanding warrants issued exactly one year before. He was arrested on warrants for breach of probation and failing to appear that were issued on May 2nd, 2008. He remains in custody for a bail hearing on Monday.
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 2, 2009, at 11:04 p.m., Police responded to a report of a person causing damage to property on College Street West. It is alleged a male was observed throwing his skateboard at a sign located as well as damaging the flowerbeds on the property. A 25 yr old Belleville man was charged with Mischief.
Break & Enter
Belleville, Ont. ? On the 02nd of May, 2009 police attended a Sidney Street address at 12:47pm regarding a Break and Enter. Sometime overnight unknown person(s) entered a shed in the backyard and stole a welder and Pocket Bike.
